I'd really like to hear your guy's opinion on this.


Polish government officials claim that keeping the Auschwitz camps maintained and running is becoming too expensive and are seriously considering closing the buildings to let them decay into history. Some even want to demolish the buildings as soon as the last Holocaust survivor is deceased.

To this I say: No. Bad idea.

Why would you even consider that? What happened to all the "We Will Never Forget"s? And isn't demolishing the camps after the last survivor is dead even more disrespectful to the few million victims than doing it now?

These buildings have provided enlightenment and education, a brief but meaningful look into the past, painful but necessary reminders, and inspiration to thousands upon thousands of people.
If these structures are not right there to remind us to be careful, that we can't let mass murder happen again, will it? I'm fascinated with how inconceding people can be.

We've been wishing to have so many lost ancient structures back, who's to say future generations won't want to experience such historical items and their meanings?

I just thought people ought to know what's being planned (if they don't already).

How? Hell. I don't know.}



Again, I really want to hear as many honest opinions as possible on that.
