Doctor of the Plague

This is me in the front. : )

I went to the Bristol Renaissance Faire as a Plague Doctor yesterday, first time I took the outfit for a spin.


My favorite incident was at the end of the day, when a small boy, hardly three feet tall, walked by me, pointing and laughing. I didn't react. Just looked at him. He quickly shut up, and when I took a single step forward, his eyes WIDENED with FEAR. He grabbed his lil brother and they ran away without a word. I lold'.


My costume consists of:
A hand-made-by-me plague doctor mask (plastic, foam, plaster, paper, lots of hot glue, paint) (beak is 9 inches long), a wide-brimmed hat we've had forever and I have no idea where it came from, ribbon, feathers, two robes, a cross made of nails, skeleton gloves, a leather bullwhip belt, a hand-made-by-me leather frog dyed with coffee, a stick from the yard, scary contacts and lots of black eyeshadow, knee-high leather boots, various strips of leather, vials of miscellaneous, colorful liquids, more nails, needles of various shapes and sizes, a little pouch of rat/mouse/shrew/vole bones, round/mini (doll) spectacles, teeeeeny surgical scissors, some bales, beads, and lots of string.
